Neighborhood store which has variety of frozen custards and shakes. Located in the border of Mundelein and Vernon, has ample parking, and a good shaded area overlooking the roadway for enjoying the frozen delights right away. Decently priced and usually quite popular and crowded in the summer months.

Tried the butterscotch flavor and it was pretty good! They didn’t have it available for cones or cups, so I picked up a pint instead. The custard is creamy and has nice flavor, but not quite top-notch for me. Still, it’s a solid spot with good quality treats and worth checking out if you’re nearby.

First timer - tried the small turtle sundae—- but as spectacular. Very smooth creamy custard. I’ll be back, I noticed they have a ‘tin-roof’ sundae, I’ve been craving one since my first and last taste nearly 10 years ago (Leon’s Custard)

A treasure of the northern suburbs. Greg’s Frozen Custard has some of the best quality desserts in a fun atmosphere. They have your standard chocolate and vanilla flavors as well as daily specials. There’s a large selection of sundaes and toppings that there’s definitely something for everyone. Greg’s does not have indoor dining, there’s a walk up window and plenty of covered picnic tables and a few benches alongside the building. The entire place has a 1950s retro aesthetic and they’re often playing music from that era as well. The entire package is comforting and something to look forward to. My go to sundae is the dusty road, which is vanilla custard with hot fudge topped with malt powder and a cherry. You can’t go wrong with the Elvis or the Fluffernutter as well. They have a selections of shakes and malts that always hit the spot as well like the dreamsicle or lucky charms shake. You can get treats like a banana split which is massive and with fresh toppings. You can typically get a calendar of their monthly flavors on social media so you can plan out any special flavors. It’s worth checking out so you don’t miss anything that piques your interest.

We just made our trek from St Charles area. Best custard ever, check out the pistachio! We have been loving Greg's 12 years! Tall Dark Italian totally recommended! But check the calendar!

Its a nice ice cream. Lots of flavors to choose from but I have had better custards. Loved their choices of flavors though. Bit pricey for the quantity.

Not sure when this place closes for the season but I definitely need to bring my boys here before it closes. This place is growing on me and the residents of Mundelein are lucky to have this wonder. This past July was the first time in a couple of years coming here and I feel so bad. I guess being a foodie and avid Google reviewer, I'm all over the place and this wonderful ice cream (custard) shop slips my mind. Have had a few different items/flavors from here and everything I've ever had here as well as my wife & kids, we love it all. High quality frozen treats at still fair prices, friendly service and a fun atmosphere. So glad this venue stayed alive thru the COVID and the unnecessary inflation. Always happy to support local and hope for continued success & prosperity for the owner(s).
